I.C.E. Exchange Program Description: Most of the time, a job analysis is a straightforward, organized, and dare we say fun activity for everyone involved. However, and for a variety of reasons, a job analysis can be one of the most challenging meetings for everyone involved in this process. During this session, a psychometrician and two association professionals will provide the lessons they have learned from difficult job analyses, including the following scenarios.

Undefined scope of practice/scope of work.
Too many SMEs in one room with different perspectives.
Inability to acquire a representative group of qualified SMEs.
Shy, quiet, or disengaged participants.
Combative, divisive, or overly dominate personalities.
Observers who don't understand their role in the process.
Lack of an adequate budget and/or resources.

Attendees will leave this session with strategies for mitigating challenging job analyses and improving future workshops.
