Dr. Yermie Cohen, MD, is the Founder and CEO of Memorang, where he leads the development of an AI stack for education, helping organizations create content and personalized learning experiences at scale. He holds multiple engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Doctor of Medicine from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Over his career, Dr. Cohen has contributed to over 100 research projects in fields such as medical devices, healthcare data mining, education, biomechatronics, and botany. His engineering work led to the invention of prosthetic devices, enhancements in robotic surgery, and neural-network powered desalination units for the US Navy.
Dr. Cohen has founded several educational initiatives, including inner-city math tutoring programs for middle school students and anatomy teaching programs in medical school. In the edtech space, he has developed over 150 test-prep programs, founded multiple data consultancies, and previously created a study platform that reached millions of users. He pioneered ML-powered spaced repetition in the early 2010s and was the first to launch LLM-generated educational content in early 2022, and has gained international recognition in the applied AI startup space. His mission is to push the boundaries of applied AI in education for the greater public good and drive societal progress.
