Communicating Change and Creating Buy-In

I.C.E. Exchange Program Description: Change is inevitable, and it’s how we keep our organizations current, relevant, and living out our mission in credentialing the workforce and protecting the public. But, how do we help bring others along on this journey with us? During this session, we will share case studies about very different and monumental exam program changes implemented by three organizations and their strategies for gaining buy-in from their stakeholders. Each case study will highlight a unique organizational initiative and the communication efforts that helped drive information sharing and success of the initiative. One organization transitioned to new vendors for all aspects of their exam program, and you’ll hear from them about how they communicated extensive modifications to their clients. Another organization developed a longitudinal exam process as an added alternative for the traditional recertification exam, and they will share information on internal collaboration and the variety of tools used to inform certificants about this new format. A third organization will share their communication strategies for creating buy-in from multiple stakeholders as they transitioned from a knowledge-based licensure exam to a competency-based exam that added a skills assessment.
