Prior to 2023, the volume of tests administered via live remote proctoring was only a small portion of the total tests administered annually. The primary users were educational programs and programs with low to mid-stakes assessments. That changed dramatically during 2020’s global pandemic and has continued to be a delivery method that continues to have a major impact on the testing industry.
This session will focus on the evolution of live remote proctoring over three time periods: prior to 2020, in the pandemic and post pandemic years of the adoption of live remote proctoring, and predictions of this delivery method over the next 3-5 years. The session will include the following topics: technology changes that support live remote proctoring, communication between test sponsors and candidates about preparation for testing via live remote proctoring, security comparability between other delivery methods and live remote proctoring, and candidate decision -making when options for testing via live remote proctoring and other delivery methods are available.
