I.C.E. Exchange Program Description: This poster will outline the process undertaken to develop the specifications for ABPD’s continuing certification program. Unlike a traditional practice analysis survey, this involved collecting direct practice reports from a smaller sample of practitioners. ABPD solicited interest in being a part of this process and a representative sample of practicing professionals was selected from those who volunteered to participate. These individuals were asked to tally the frequency of their job tasks for three days to identify which procedures were most and least frequent. The frequency of task occurrence varied across practitioners. Therefore, practitioners were asked follow up questions to understand if a given task was infrequently reported because it is often referred out or if the three day sample was not sufficient to capture the typical range of job tasks.
The results were analyzed and compared to expectations for newly credentialed professionals. This poster presentation will detail how this research was conducted, how the results were evaluated, and how the findings were used to create the specifications for the continuing certification program. Presenters will share successes and lessons learned from this process.

Learning Objectives:
To outline the process of developing a content outline for a continuing certification program using practice activity.
To describe how practice activity was collected through an alternative approach beyond a large-scale survey
To share lessons learned through this experience and guidance for others considering a similar approach.
